Sacred Trek: Cordillera Blanca
Founded in 2008 by longtime Climb Against the Odds team leader, Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (formerly Breast Cancer Fund) Hero and professional guide, Cathy Ann Taylor, the Sacred Treks program has taken participants all around the world and has raised over $680,000 for BCPP. In June 2017 participants head out for a 14 day, high altitude trek in the Cordillera Blanca in the high Andes of Peru.
Participants will trek past ice-fluted peaks, sprawling glaciers, turquoise lakes, and lovely alpine flora. In this challenging but rewarding journey they will cross eight passes, most of them more than 15,000 feet high, and camp beside deep blue lakes with views of snowcapped peaks.
The team of trekkers pay their own expenses for the journey and commit to raising $5000 for the BCPP. They will trek to support the mission of prevention and to honor loved ones who have faced the challenge of breast cancer.
